 INTERESTING CAT FACTS

The Cat’s maximum speed is 30 mph.

It’s average lifespan is 13 to 14 years. However, although their lifespan varies, a well cared for cat may commonly live to 15 or beyond, and some make it to 18 or 20. A few extraordinary felines even pass 25 or 30 years of age.

Cats can't see fine detail or rich color, but have a superior ability to see in the dark because of the high number of rods in their retina that are sensitive to dim light. As a result, cats can see using roughly one-sixth the amount of light that people need.

Cats are obligate carnivores, which means that they rely on nutrients found only in animal products. Cats are hunters that look for prey that contains high amounts of protein, medium amounts of fat, and a small amount of carbohydrates, and their diet still needs these same things today.

  3. I enjoyed how you explained how cats can see in the dark, and what they need for their diet. I have a cat who loves to sleep during the day, and stay up late at night. Why do cats do stay up all night and sleep all day?
